About Candle Math: how these calculators are made

Candle Math is a small, independent set of calculators. It is run by one person. There are no accounts, no cookies and no adverts between you and the result.

The pages are generated by software from a written specification of each formula, and the calculators were programmed with the help of AI coding tools. No result is published on trust: each formula is implemented twice, independently, and both versions must agree on published worked examples and on random inputs before a page goes live.

Every formula is written out on the methods pages with the source it follows. The site does not give professional advice, and it does not review or rank products.
